Transportation in Tampa, Florida

Tampa's livability score s high, and it ranks in the 84th percentile nationally, a very high rating. I like A sprawling city with a variety of transportation options. The area is served by five major highways, one of which, Interstate 275, passes through downtown Tampa. Some of the highways are toll highways. More than 20 commercial airlines and several charter companies serve Tampa travelers at Tampa International Airport. Amtrak operates daily trains to and from cities nationwide, starting at Tampa's historic Union Station. To get around the city, you can drive, take the city bus, take the TECO line tram, or enjoy the scenic walking trails. Enjoy Bayshore Boulevard, billed as the longest continuous sidewalk in the world. Tampa Mayor Jane Castor has big plans for an affordable, accessible, innovative urban transportation system. Castor's vision includes expanding tram lines, train and ride-sharing opportunities, S-Bahn buses, and improving walking and cycling.

Florida Gas Prices Fell Last Week But Remain Near 2023 Highs

You're not alone if you get sticker shock when you stop to fill up your car's gas tank. Based on AAA, the price of a gallon of unleaded gasoline in Florida reached $3.56, barely two cents lower than the 2023 high of $3.58. Despite a 2% increase in crude oil prices last week, it was enough to bring global oil prices to $83.26 per barrel. Overall, AAA predicted it would result in a five-cent increase at the pump. It's shocking and irritating that the gas keeps increasing prices, but I'm still glad it fell off even a little. As I see it, the gas price will no longer decrease. The inflation rate keeps a steady graph going up. Read more
